David Goode (born 1971) is a British organist. He is organist and Head of Keyboard at Eton College, where he presides over a unique collection of historic instruments and teaches some of the world's best young organists. He combines this with a busy international concert career.
David Goode was a music scholar at Eton College (he also received an honorary academic scholarship in his final year) and was organ scholar at King’s College, Cambridge 1991–94, graduating with top honors. While there, he studied the organ with David Sanger and Jacques van Oortmerssen. From 1996–2001, he was sub-organist at Christ Church, Oxford and as such toured and made several recordings. After winning major prizes at the 1997 St. Alban’s Interpretation Competition and at the 1998 Calgary Competition, he concentrated on a free-lance career between 2001 and 2003. From 2003 to 2005, he was the organist-in-residence at First Congregational Church in Los Angeles California where he combined preciding over one of the world's largest organs with a busy international touring schedule. He returned to Eton College in 2005 due to the lack of teaching he had done in the United States.
